Chomsky, being and outspoken left wing proponent cannot be taken at face value. Having said that, I was an American working in Madiun, at the Iswayudi AirForce base around 1981 through 1983. The Indonesian aircraft pilots I dealt with were frequently on secret missions, which delayed our work. It was many years later that I surmised that the location of the secret missions was most likely Timor Timor. The worst part of the situation, from my personal involvement, was that I had instructed the pilots in the use of their weapons and navigation systems. I am so sorry. Please accept my apologies.
